UVA Neuroscience Research Funding Has Increased by Nearly $20 Million Since 2020
In FY23, more than $53 million in neuroscience-related research funding was awarded to investigators at the University of Virginia from the National Institutes of Health.
In FY20, just over $36 million was awarded. This increase reflects the notable efforts of faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, post doctoral researchers, and staff who are engaged in research in brain, neuroscience, and related disciplines.
The strength of the neuroscience research community will be further enhanced by ongoing cross-Grounds investments, including the Grand Challenges Research Investments in Brain and Neuroscience and other initiatives, to recruit and retain world-class neuroscientists, enhance research infrastructure, and enable vibrant collaborations.

Congratulations to the neuroscience community for this success!
