Dr. Madhu Misra was appointed Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Physician-in-Chief for UVA Health Children's Hospital in December 2023.

The 2024 UVA Brain Symposium was held May 21-23, 2024 at the new UVA Contemplative Commons. Over 300 faculty, students, staff, and community members attended the event which focused on emerging research in 5 key neuroscience topic areas.

Dr. Sameer Bajikar joined the UVA Departments of Cell Biology & Biomedical Engineering in 2024.

Dr. Javier Rasero joined the UVA School of Data Science in 2023.

The Brain Institute will host an neuroimaging focus group on Thursday, February 29th, 2024.

In 2023, the Brain Institute awarded over $850,000 in seed funding through 4 funding mechanisms.

Dr. Stefanie Sequeira joined the UVA Department of Psychology, in the College of Arts & Sciences, in 2023.
